yep – still here – working hard on new things, and a BIG SURPRISE!!!!!

Here's a sneak peek:

kclark-sneak-peek-01.jpg

Hey guess what – M1 finally learnt to write her name!  Yippee! I will scan and show tomorrow – what a milestone!  AND – she has started doing kneeling dives at swimming!  What a little gem she is. (can't say the sme about M2 – she screamed like a banshee throughout the entire swim lesson!).

Oh – a quick funny!  I was wearing knickers that are similar to a *g*string* , and putting my jeans on, when M1 came up to me and giggled and said 'Mummy – you have a winky!'  After further investigation – we discovered that winky was her way of saying wedgie!!!!  how cute:)

OK – gotta get to bed:)

whew – what a day…..

Posted on June 23, 2007

…yesterday!

OK – so shoot me – I'm a day late – but better late than never!

So here I was – around 1:00pm yesterday afternoon – happily immersed in some spectacular wordpress plugin / code that was keeping me busy – when VOILA – no power.  AHA.  No POWER – shall I say that again!!!  Ahhh – says me to myself.  Friday 22 June – no power – that rings a bell.  So I trot over to the fridge and look at the notice which reads – INTERRUPTION TO ELECTRICITY SUPPLY.  Oh – so it WAS meant for us!!!  Since there was no specific address on the letter – I had assumed that it may not be for us – but some junk mail – so I kept it anyway. Lucky.  Sooooo – no power until – possibly 4:30pm.  WHAT!  I allowed my self a minute before picking myself up off the floor!!!!!  No power means – no HEATING, no music, no internet, no computer, and no kettle to make myself a warm drink.  AARRGGHH. So I sat down with my sketchbook, and let the ideas flow.  What did I come up with – wait and see!!!!!

Then – after dinner (all power had since been restored!) -  I continued work on the wordpress plugin codey thing – when WHAM.  Blog gone. So I went to bed!  Obviously I have since ustilised my magical wordpress powers, and fixed it up!

Last night was M1's Lantern Walk to 'celebrate' the Winter Solstice.  great success. Rain held off, lanterns stayed alight, and I didn't lose my children (is that a blessing!).  Of course – no camera – the memory is in my head!  But – never fear – here's a couple of shots of M1 with her new umbrella…..

just moseying…..

Posted on June 20, 2007

You know how it is when everything just isn't quite 'right'!  nothing too major – but a whole heap of stuff all on top of each other that sort of keeps piling up, and then it feels like it is taking over!  Yeah!  or am I talking to myself…..again!

Wilbur is working in town at present – 2 hours away from us – and we only have the one car – since we finally had his beloved Corolla towed away (poor Will!).  Since we do not live super close to any form of public transport – the girls and I a sort of STuck at home, and I am having to rely on other people to do the Kinder runs etc etc.

So – M2 woke up yesterday all grizzly and croaky – uh oh – sore throat.  She ended up crying from 7:30am until around 10:00am – when I had organised for a friend to come and pick us up, and take us to the doctor!  (thanks Jenny!).  Didn't get to see our normal doctor – you know – the family one – the same doctor I have been seeing since I was knee-high to a grasshopper!  After waiting for 45 minutes he sees us, and of course M2 gets hysterical -(coz he's not her favourite paediatrician that we have been seeing weekly for nearly 3 years – love your work Dr L.!), and dodgy Dr decides she has a temperature – well wouldn't you if you were screaming your little lungs out!  Anyway – it's not tonsilitis – just an inflamed throat – off to Chemist with a script- $20 later – thank-you very much.  I am still searching for the diamonds in the bottom of the medicine bottle!  She was alot better today – still croaky, but we went for her weekly visit to Dr L, and of course M2 batted her eyelashes at him, and let him poke and prod to his heart's content!  Fickle child!

M1 is having skin troubles.  She has always had a little bit of eczema – and it flares up when she heats artificial foods.  It is flaring up at present – simply because (my belief) she has been galivanting at friends houses a bit lately – and has therefore been eating more 'junky' stuff than she normally would. I don't give her any bad food – it's not worth the hassle.  Poor girl – she has lots of little lumpy looking things all over her bottom and the tops of her thighs – at first glance I thought – chicken-pox – but no.  Bugger.  cortisone cream and moisturiser it is until it dies down.  She also has a bit around her mouth.  M2 is a huge thumb-sucker.  To the point that her thumb has recently become crusty and yuk.  So – I bought some 'stop n grow'.  it is working a treat – she hasn't sucked her thumb in two days now!  yay – now need to clear up the state of the thumb!

Umm – what else – oh feeling a little 'burnt' by a couple of people in the digi-world!  it's unfortunate – maybe I am too sensitive – but that's how it goes I guess.  Enough said.

Enough whinging stuff – here's some photos are took late last year of my girsl – but I have only just processed them! Thanks to Holly for the processing actions for PSCS2! Hmm- maybe not – I forgot to save them for the web – so they are a little large!!!  Woops!!! Hang-on let me fix that – they are gorgeous photos! (even if I do say so myself!)

Oh – oops – check out what was in my grab-bag at MDM!  it's all in store now at normal price!!!!!

..but oh so worth it!

I think I spent around two and a half hours on this – from the sketch to the doodles, to the paper 'cutting' and glitter making, and Holly's amazing photography actions!  Ah – but it was fun!

grabbity grab….

OK – so it's grab-bag time again.  Go and get it!

This month there is a twist.  Each of our grab-bags contains an item from another designer!  Surprise!!!!!

AND – I have added a surprise in mine as well as the 5 items in there!  Yep – it's a large bag this month – coz I am feeling happy that I am nearly over my bout of tonsilitis!

OK – news for you.  Check out Nancy's blog!  She is having her guest blogger this week – the wonderful Alissa! There's some great prizes to be had if you participate in all 20 challenges over the next 20 weeks!

Oh – we had another Heinz scan yesterday.  She is definitely a SHE.  Bring on the pink and Barbies!  Can't wait for the PMT in 12 or so years time – when they all have it together!  I might just leave home that week!

M2 finally did a w*e*e* on the toilet yesterday.  We nearly had a party in there!  She was so pleased.  Apparently she did another on the toilet at creche today too.  We are so proud.  She also did the hugest p*o*o* EVER at creche – and not being contained in a nappy – it went everywhere!  They had to hose her down, and wash her shoes and all – lucky she had on her Crocs!!  Will and I laughed sooo hard when they told us.  thank-goodness it wasn't me that had to deal with it!

$2 and tonsilitis!

Posted on June 13, 2007

How are they related you ask?

Well – let me begin!

For today only – this marvelous paper pack is for $2 ONLY at My Digital Muse.

kclark-madison-pp-600.gif

 You know you want it!

And the tonsilitis – I have it.  Went to the Doctor this morning, and was officially diagnosed with a very contagious case.  So was Will.  Looks like we have been kissing WAY too much. (if only!) So we are both on a course on antibiotics.  I hate taking tablets.  despise it.  But I think I hate this sore throat a whole heap more.  Gee – I really hope the M's don't get struck down – they certainly would not be happy.

Anyway – why are you still here reading – go to MDM now, and spend your $2 -and remember to save another $2 for the GRAB-BAG deal this weekend!

much pain….

Posted on June 13, 2007

OK – so Monday night – I had a sore throat – not just your ordinary boring sore throat – but the sort that feels like there's a set of free steak knives hacking at my oesophagus every time I breathe, swallow or even think about breathing.  Will is feeling the same, only his came on a few hours earlier than mine.  Fast forward to last night – and my ears are in agony, my poor throat refuses to let me eat (thank-goodness porridge is warn, sweet and soft), talk or breathe.  My body is aching – add those aches to the pregnancy aches – and you can tell I am feeling wonderful (let me pause while I take my tongue out of my cheek!).  So now it is Wednesday morning, and I have a billion things to do, and still I cannot swallow, breathe, drink or eat (more porridge).  I'd give anything to be able to take some sort of pain-killer – but apparently pain killers are not overly nice for Heinz.  At least Will can take something!  Don't get me wrong – I only medicate myself if I REALLY need it – now is one of those times!  Maybe I will go and gargle some warm salt water.

Anyway – the crux of the matter is that I feel like crap.  I have to finish up some wonderful stuff for my grab-bag this weekend, as well as some fonts – oh – and do a CT call, and newsletter.  AARRGGHH.  Oh – and did I mention I have two children as well!!!!!!!

OK – enough bleating and feeling sorry for myself – I did have a birthday shop for myself yesterday!  Some new boots – they are sheepskinny type things, come up to just under the knee with laces, and a zip!  Thank-goodness for the zip- wouldn't want to lace up that many ties that often!  Plus a wool jumper, vest and hat/scarf/gloves set – coz it's super cold down here right now!

OK – that's enough for now – have a wonderful day everyone – make sure you get outside and enjoy the air – whether it be hot or cold – it's a beautiful world we live in:)

a bit of a tooty post….sort of!

Posted on June 10, 2007

Yep – I feel the need to blow my own trumpet a little – I don't do it much – so bear with me!

First – check out Nancy's blog – it's gorgeous.  You know what – I did it! Thank-you Nancy for believing in me, and giving me the most wonderful chance to work with you – you are a delight to work with:)  I am looking forward to the 'revolution'!!!!! How cute is her header….

I love the little hearts.

Next little feel good thing – I got a mention in a thread at DST today about 'telling which designers people have recently found'!  How exciting! Thank-you to Kellie for mentioning me – I truly appreciate it!

Lastly – check out She-essence – specifically the forum – that is also my work.  While you are there – why not join – they have a bit of everything for all women – craft, scrapbooking, spiritual stuff, general chatter, a business forum – etc.  they are a wonderful – non-cliquey supportive and fun group of ladies – give them a go!

OK – is that enough horn blowing!

I have a bit of work on at present – a website to re-skin (Oz-e-wahm Topsites – go and register over there if you are an Aussie work at home mum e – it is a wonderful resource for work at home mums wanting to make it in business), a CT call to organise (wink wink), a newsletter to design and get going, a few blinkies to design and create for a lovely buddy of mine, some fonts to complete, and a brain full of ideas to execute.  Oh – did I mention that I also have two children to entertain, one Heinz to incubate, and a gorgeous husband to love.  I love my life:).

Speaking of loving life – Will finally got paid for April today.  Ripper.  So we went out and did a food shop – cheesecake ingredients.  I wish we hadn't – I was going to make a chocolatey type of affair but I ate the Mint Aero bar, and half a packet of Malteasers.  Ugh.  I feel nicely crook now!  Oh well – they were lovely whilst they lasted!  I'll do the cooking in the morning, my cousin and her husband are coming over for morning tea – how nicely civilised is that!!

We also bought a body pillow for me.  My belated Birthday present.  I can hardly wait to get into bed with it!  Sorry Will! It's like this.  We used to have a water bed – I loved it – especially when pregnant – I could still sleep on my tummy.  Anyway – recently we purchased a normal bed – you know – flat.  It's really hard to sleep on my tummy when Heinz is in the way – she protests a little.  Hence the body pillow.  Poor Will has been kicked out onto the couch – one can only handle so much noisy man-breathing, snoring and snorting!

We rounded our purchases (for us) off with a new doona/quilt (is there a difference between the two?).  About a year ago – we bought a goose down feather thing – it was supposed to be warm, and the feathers were MEANT to stay locked in their little squares.  Not so.  they all made their way to the edge of the doona – until I felt like I was sleeping under a sheet with heavy edges! Finally we purchased a new one – it's wool.  I'm sleeping under a sheep.  AND it is heavy.  Oh – I hope I am warm.  All night. My eleccy blanky is on right now – I'll turn it off when I hope in, and most likely roast (poor Heinz) – but I'll be happy.  I'm a flannel PJ's and bed socks kind of gal too – so I am super rugged up, whereas Will is a bare skin type of bloke (if you get my drift!).  I'll let you know.

Lastly – the girls got a new oil heater for their room.  One of those oil-filled column things.  Their last one kicked the bucket the other night, and because our house has not one little bit of insulation – we have to do something to  keep them warm – since M2 insists on sleeping without her doona on!

Oh – this has been a lengthy post – it must be time to try out my new bed bits:)  Sleep well to those who are sleeping, and enjoy your day to those who are finished with sleeping! Thanks for sticking around!

Had a super quiet day today – I was totally exhausted.  Up late too many nights in front of the computer does absolutely nothing for my already pregnant-addled brain!  Actually – it wasn't really that quiet today – Madison had dancing this morning, and then her little friend came over for a play until after lunch – by which time my Mum was here as well.  The both of my M's had naps – lucky things – and then we picked up Will who was BBQing sausages for the Kinder fundraiser at the local Bunnings Store! After all that – it was out to dinner at a friend's farm for roast.  Quiet – I think not.  Maybe tomorrow.
