jig.a.lig.a.jig

Okay – so I am not sure where jigaligajig comes from – but it sounds up beat and fancy free.  And that’s me!  Oh gosh – now I’ve started rhyming – can you tell this is going to be a great post!

I actually started this post at 6:45am this morning.  I got somewhat sidetracked, and here I am at 2:11pm – trying to remember what it was I was going to write. Oh yes – that’s right – my memory, or lack thereof!  Hence the memory jig thing up there. M1 has come out with some fabulous lines of late, and do you think I can remember them all.  i should start carrying a pen and paper with me.  Oh – but that would be too easy smart.

The topic of the moment at school is ‘healthy eating” – now – we have no worries about healthy eating in this house.  in fact – I am surprised that my children have not started growing apples or some other fruit out of their ears.  I don’t buy junky foods, so we don’t eat junky foods.  I must admint though – that poses a problem when they go to parties.  My children are always the last to leave the party table, coz they are stocking up on lollies, chips and other ’stuff’ that they don’t get at home!!!!  SOMETIMES food!!!!  So – back to the school healthy eating thing.  Madison declared to me in the car the other day – “Mummy – so you know what – we have to have 6 glasses of water a day’.  She then proceeded to take six gulps of water – counting each one in a loud important voice.  “There” she said.  After my laughter had subsided, I pointed out that she needed to drink 6 GLASSES of water, not gulps.  Oh – that put a different spin on things!

Lovely Sunday today – woke up to the beautiful sound of rain.  Then the happy sunshiney sun broke through.  Lovely.  Mum came over, and we took the girls for a bike ride.

Check out the speed happening here!

And the spped here – or lack thereof!  Actually – M2 is doing alright – she has one of those bikes with a handle on the back that I push.  She is finally starting to pedal herself (as opposed to leaning backwards on the pedal, thus making it extremely hard to push!), but tend to forget to look where she is going!  One thing at a time with the Mackenzinator!

The Murph spent her outside time in the pram – all cosy as a posy – feeling very snuggly.

there's trouble ahead

Hmm – {m1} = trouble ahead.

This is what happens when you GO GO GO all day, and finally sit on the couch for a few minutes at around 4:00pm.  She was totally exhausted.  To give her credit – she has been crook lately – but more to come on that on a later post.

flat out

flat out

like a lizard dinking.  I wish I was a lizard drinking – then I wouldn’t be so flat-out.  Follow me? Actually – no I don’t – coz then I wouldn’t be able to capture such gems!

the G family

These were the most gorgeous children.  So polite, and awfully photogenic. We had a lovely time in the gorgeous fading light.

Thanks for the fun and for being so wonderfully patient!

June snapshot

Okay – so I’m a little late with this one!  Better late than never I always say!  Umm – let me add a little disclaimer – alot of these were shot in low light with my faithful point and shoot, and the colour and quality are a little off.  Deal with it.  These are snapshots!!!!

Here’s a bit of fun to get your groovy bits grooving!

oh my giddy aunt

oh my giddy aunt

I don’t even have a giddy aunt.  I have an aunt – she’s certainly not giddy – she is tops (hello L!).  I just wanted to convey how excited I am about something I ate today.  No – not the packet minus 2 tim tams I ate the other day, but the hommous that I made today.  Ohhhhh.  Sublime.  Stunning.  There are not enough adjectives.  It was so easy:

  • 1 can organic chickpeas (doesn’t have to be organic!)
  • a slurp of olive oil
  • a slurp of lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic

Mix it all using a whizzy thing with sharp blades (the technologically inclined would call it a food processor!), and enjoy.  i cut up some celery and carrot sticks, but found that I got more in my mouth using wither my fingers as a dipping instrument, or a teaspoon!

just stuff

just stuff

So – I am experimenting with my new backdrop.  M3 is the only M willing enough to have her photo taken.  Surely it makes no dfference that she is not able to voice her opinion.  I should take the opportunity now – while I can!  She takes such a yummy photo – so how can I resist!  Oh look – here she is again!!!!

We are smacko in the middle of school holidays at present.  Lovely.  I like a bit of holiday.  M1 has been pushing the wrong buttons of late though.  I’m not sure why she thinks it is fine to hit M2 – with or without a pencil, across teh face.   I certainly never taught her that.  Nor is it fine to come to me and tell whoppers about M2 saying swear words.  M2 can barely string a coherent sentence togeter, let alone swear. Surely there are better ways to get my attention.  Surely she doesn’t want the sort of attention that bad behaviour attracts.  Let’s have cuddles and fun instead of yelling and nasty mum.  Breathe.  Count to 10.  We had a break from each other today – she went with A to Puffing Billy.  I presume she had fun – she is now having a sleepover.  Ahh – feel the serenity.  Love her to bits.

M3.  The pictures up there pretty much sum her up in a nutshell.  She’s such a happy thing.  Hang – on – let me clarify. A happy immoblie thing.  That’s right.  No crawling.  Nada.  None. Zip.  She’s 9 months old next week, and is more than hapy to sit in the middle of the floor and giggle at stuff.  Not that there is anything wrong with that! She is happy to sit for a good 30 minutes and chuckle.  I like that in a baby.

The Mackenzinator – she’s a treat.  Getting cheekier naughtier every day.  She is enjoying the little things in life.  She found a toy matchbox car in a basket the yesterday, and hasn’t let it go since.  She makes all the vrooming noises, and it is now under her pillow!

VOILA

VOILA

It’s done.  I think.  I actually installed my new look the other day – but left it in Maintenance Mode as I wasn’t overlay happy with it.  Now I think I am done. For now.  IT’s a super simple site.  Navigate up the top as you hover over the image.  More navigation down the bottom – just to be user friendly – there’s nothing worse than scrolling ALL the way to the bottom of a blog, only to need to whip ALL the way up to the top to go somehere else! Hmm – let’s talk Archives.  The Archives page is a work in progress.  Each little thumbnail depicts the post.  Click on the thumbnail – and off you go – automagically to the post.  Cool huh!  There IS an incy wincy error that is displaying on the archives page – I am aware of it, and working on it – but I just wnted to get amuzeing back online!  Bear with me – please!

a few new things

a few new things

Did you notice the new look!  I have been working on it for a while – and it’s still not completely complete!  Make sense?  I had to change it from the other look though – coz my darling Wilbur didn’t want to come and read anymore as he didn’t like the drab look.  Fair enough.

We purchased a new backdrop / stand set-up yesterday.  To tell the truth – I was more than happy for Will to knock me up something, but when I started explaining what I needed and where, he did the old ‘let’s go buy one’!!!  Ahh – works everytime!!!!!

So – after he had set up the white backdrop, I had to have a play – it was around 5:00pm, there was barely an light, and I cranked up the ISO – but – the 5D rocks the high ISO!
