Happy New Year!

Would you look at that!  I am a day behind already – how can that be!!!  Oh yes – I know – LIFE!

This photo is typical.  The Mackenzinator is bear-hugging The Murph.  Murph just wants to get away.  The story of her VERY short life.  That and wearing shoes on her hands and crawling coz she can’t walk yet – but that’s a whole other story….

This one is also typical.  The big M’s can’t get enough of the littlest one – they are with her constantly – no wonder the poor kid can’t walk yet!  I am sure they are planning something here….

would you look at that!

twice in two days!

This is a photo-ish post – of my M’s.  I had a quick bit of fun with them today – when I say quick – I really mean – ‘quick – catch me with the camera before I rub away from you mum’ type quick!  Seriously though – they would more than happy to make faces for me – even the Mackenzinator.  Gotta get it while it lasts I guess!

The above photo was taken at M2 and M3’s Take-abreak Christmas party!  There was lots of food, and M3 was getting stuck into it!  A few seconds after that shot – this happened:

Gotta love her work!

So – the object of today was just have a bit of fun with the girls.  I would ideally like to do this monthly for the next year – take each girl seperately and shoot ‘em (only in the photographic sense of course…..) – and see how they grow over 12 months.  This was a practice month – it worked out OK!

The Mackenzinator.

Three girls huh!  We are in all sorts of trouble in a few years when they all grow up!  M1 turns 6 soon – and she is already a brat! All three of them are beautiful beings, and really – I wouldn’t change too much about them (or would I – *scratches head in deep thought*).

I think a couple of these photos deserve the limelight by themselves….

The Murph.  Her eyes are little melting pots.  In fact – they all have little melthing pots for eyes.  Swoon. She is such an dependently independent thing.  Want to do stuff by herself, yet can’t get herself down from a standing position (when she’s leaning on something) so she screams like a banshee until someone rescues her!  There’s no walking yet – not even any standing on her won yet – although I think she’ll catch onto that in the next week or two – if her ‘doting’ (that’s the diplomatic word for it) sisters let her do her own thing!

The Mackenzinator.  Such a trooper.  Such trouble. When she is in strife – she says to me ‘I wuv you mummy’.  So squishy and cuddly!

Ahh – Miss Madison. Heartbreaker here we come.  Love her to death – but golly gosh – she knows which buttons to push.

Today was M1’s end of year school excursion to the park.  It rained for the day.  The little M’s and I didn’t go – there was sleep to be had.  Apparently she had fun though. “I played with everyone mum” was all I could get out of her!

Tomorrow is th end of year class Christmas party.  They have al place a Kris Kringle gift under the tree and will distribute accordingly tomorrow.  They were give a list of things suitable as party food, and a discussion was had regarding which thing they thought would be easiest for their Mum/Dad/whoever to prepare so that it could be brought to the party.  the choices were along the lines of chips/lollies, fruit plate, healthy sandwiches, cakes/slices or drink.  Madsion picked ‘healthy sandwiches’! WHAT! Could she have picked fruit!  So much easier.  So – tomorrow morning I’ll be busy creating ‘healthy sandwiches.  What constitues a healhy sandwich?  I am guessing the same as we generally eat – ham, chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, egg – or maybe not egg – allergies – argh!  I’ll just make a heap and bung ‘em on a plate – they’ll be right!

on the first day of Christmas……

on the first day of Christmas......

(…ok – maybe the second or third), a*muze*ing joined in the Chrsitmas cheer!!!!

WOW – look what happens when you are ‘blogsent’ (umm – absent from the blog for all you people not ‘in the know’!), for a while around Christmas time – the elves come in and do a make-over!  (now – if only they would come and visit the house….).

Lots has been happening (is that ‘good grammar’?!).  Wilbur came home and we went away for a flying visit to Noosa.  We took the Murph with us.  Can I just say FABULOUS!  Sounds awfully glamourous doesn’t it.  Well – it was!  Wilbur was meant to do some sort of convoluted extra expensice course in Thailand.  He decided not to when he discovered how extra expensive and convoluted it was all going to be.  SO…. I mentioned the vague possibility of whipping away to noosa for a day or two (totally ff the cuff, and sort of tongue in cheek!), and he said ‘yeah – why not’!  I was on the phone to Jetstar within seconds.  I got us a great package deal at the Sheraton Noosa for four nights, and rang Will with the details before I committed.  He suggested staying five nights.  Not one to argue – I whipped back on the phone to Jetstar, and before you could say ‘pass me the sunscreen’ – we were booked and paid for.  Ahhhh.  We decided to hire a car, and Will booked a Hyundai Getz for us.  once we got off the plane and headed to the Budget Car rental desk – the bloke behind the desk took one look at us and our stuff, and said ‘you won’t fit in a Getz – have an upgrade’.  No complaints here.

Once we got to the Sheraton, Wilbur gt to the desk and said ‘How’s our upgrade coming along!!!’.  To which the LOVELY receptionist replied – ‘beautifully sir – you have been upgraded to a SUITE’!  WOW.  The suite was bigger than our house.  Needless to say – we didn’t move too far for the entirety of our holiday!  I barely had the camera out – except for a little photoshoot with a fabulous family (thanks N’s – I’ll get to them soon!), and a few snaps of my Wilbur and the Murph.

Oh golly gosh.  I may be a whiz at getting wordpress to look festive – but since I upgraded – I can’t upload an image.  What a fine problem!!!!!  Hang on – maybe it is because I am not connected to the internet – woops – sorry wordpress!

Hmm – so the three photos in this post are pretty much it from Noosa.  I had great intentions, but they just fell by the wayside somewhere between the swim-up bar and the fabulous buffet breakfasts!  (actually – I lie – there are more photos roaming around – I just  haven’t ‘fixed’ ‘em yet!)

Did I miss the big M’s?  A little.  i didn’t miss the whole ‘Mum, Mum, Mum’ thing.  Not even a little.  I did miss their little being though.  They were being well and truly looked after by Nanna.  thank-you Nanna – we ♥ you!

The week before we left, Will and I went to Ikea.  Mammoth trip.  Lots of stuff – not too much money spent.  I like that about Ikea.  The girls now have a wardrobe in their bedroom as well as shelving.  So much easier for them to keep clean.  One less thing for me to get all anxsty (you know what that word is right!) about – which is always a good thing.

We also went out for dinner with some fabulous friends and to the Myer Christmas windows.  Lovely evening.  M1 took a million photos on my p&s – will get around to creating a slideshow – coz I love seeing the world through her eyes.

Speaking of M1 – it is her last week of Prep this week.  What a year it has been.  Mrs M is a wonderful teacher.  She has been loving, patient, kind and caring – she is just a gem all round. We’d love to keep her – but Miss Madison is going into grade one next year (where has the time gone – surely she should be still in nappies!).  We went to the school Christmas concert (said VERY loosely) a couple of weeks ago.  Madison’s grade ’sang’ (also said very loosely!) Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.   When Will was tucking Madison in bed that night – the following exchange occurred:

Madison – “Daddy -  Mrs M told us we all had to smile while we were singing – but I didn’t have to, because I was already happy“.  Isn’t that the yummiest thing!  Ahh – she can be so cute when she is not being a brat!

We put the Christmas tree up on Monday.  yes – there is a photo lurking around on the camera – it’ll come out soon.  It looks great – although I can only put baubles BACK on the tree so many more times!  Murphy has taken a liking to pulling them off, and giggling as they roll across the floor!  Love her work!

Okay – blog{ART} stuff – the FABULOUSLY wonderful Megan Cristello asked me to create a bit of blog{ART} for her – check it out!  Looks great – and so very her – thanks Megan!

I have alsoe been lucky enough to work with the fabulous crew at Beyond Just Images – my favourite photog spot on the ‘net.  I worked with them to create a gorgeous looking blog full of awesome stuff – get on over there and check it out!

Oh oh oh – and THEN – I got to work with the just a FABULOUSLY wonderful OCF (off camera flash) expert – Ali Hohn, and created some blog{ART} for her too.  You MUST check out her OCF stuff – she is the master – AND she is coming out to Australia in February to do a workshop in Brisbane.  I will get to meet her!  Yeeha!  Anyway – check out ROCK that OCF! – Ali has a GREAT OCF Manual for sale – totally worht the money – you’ll learn so much!  Thanks Ali for woroking with me – we still have a couple of things to iron out – but it’s getting there!

Oh golly – what next.  Yes – I have braces.  I am not entirely in love with them – it’s not like they are pain-free.  They have been on for 6 days – and my teeth have moved so much already.  Unfortunately I can’t chew.  There are two great blobs of blue stuff on my back teeth to stop me from biting into the braces with my front teeth – great idea – BUT – it also means that my back teeth (you know – the chewing ones) cannot make contact, and therefore – i CAN”T chew!  This is THE most expensive diet in the world!  Think big picture – in two years -  ACE teeth!

So – it’s getting late – and I need my beauty sleep.  I’l try and keep shorted intervals between posts for a while!
