the beautiful tiny Miss C | Mornington Peninsula {newborn} Photography
Posted on July 29, 2009

I am slowly catching up on editing sessions.
I have known and grown up with the lovely Faye since we were 11 years old. She now has two beautiful children – Miss A, and Miss C. Isn’t Miss C the most beautiful tiny little thing EVAH! Look at that little tongue!

Look how in love Miss A is with her little sister………

Thanks for the fun Faye and Co – I look forward to our children growing together!

I blogged this family FINALLY the other day – but had a real NEED to reprocess.
I am really pushing myself to find MY own special way of processing. As much as I LOVE bright, colourful tones – it’s just not feeling right for me. I still want colour, but I need more feel. Feel that comes from the depths of my soul and heart. Adding a little special piece of me into each piece of art.

no snaffling…
Posted on July 26, 2009

yesterday we partook in the famous inaugural BPS car rally. a fabulous few hours was had by all. i have an expert poker player on my hands – and she is only 6. at each ’stop’ in the car rally (which – it must be stressed ‘was not a race’ – but didn’t stop me from using my fast pedalling legs when maneouvering the car!), we signed in a picked a card from the pack. at the first stop – I picked the J♥. madison picked the next three cards at the various stops – J♠ A♠ A♥. we were fairly happy at that point! as were we fanging it driving safely to the last point, we pondered our prize. could be any number of things – monetary is always a bonus! the end of the ‘rally’ was a beautiful but super cold picnic spot. at the end registration, we showed our fabulous hand – and Madison picked her last card. i held my breath – could she do it again – VOILA – a J♦. what a star! we endured a few sausi’s in bread, pumpkin soup and warm milo, whist we awaited the announcement of the winner! with great pomp and ceremony – it turned out that we had the unbeatable hand – and we were proudly handed our prize – two bottles of wine – a red and a white, and a $50 voucher to the local auto parts dealer! ripper!
as you can see from murphy’s attire in the above snapped with iphone photos – it was bitterly cold – but it was not cold enough to let it stop her from giving anyone who looked like they were getting close to snaffling her biscuit the ‘evil eye’!

windy walk
Posted on July 20, 2009

I hopped on the scales this morning only to discover to my HORROR, that I have put on 5kg. This was even AFTER my morning oblution, and Murphy’s feed – oh – and before breakfast, with minimal clothes on! (gotta get a precise reading!). Yes yes yes – I know – I am pregnant. But surely 5kg extra weight in the space of 17 weeks is overkill? Correct me if I am wrong. Anyway – I am feeling pudgy. Blugh even. You know – winter blues combined with 17 weeks of pregnancy, 12 of which were spent feeling HORRENDOUSLY nauseous. SO – to rectify the situation – I threw the Hervey on the leash, chucked my runners on, and a super windproof coat, and braved the elements. Oh my golly gosh. The wind – it was seriously windy. Windy to the point where I needed to really brace myself in order to keep going forwards! I guess that’s a good thing. Hervey and I trotted out way down to the beach – a good 3km away, and I let him have a run in the waves. Some snappy snps were taken – with the super trooper iphone, and we headed home again – feeling a whole heap better than when we headed out!

back to the grind..
Posted on July 13, 2009

School holidays are over, and it’s back to the daily grind of Term-time! Actually – it’s not really a grind – I quite enjoy doing the school stuff, swimming, kinder, take a break, gymnastics etc, and whatever else is thrown in. At least this term won’t go by in a haze of nausea. Phew. This is a bit of a wordy post – not many images I’m afraid – so sorry.
The holidays were vaguely productive. Spending time at the computer didn’t happen for me – still feeling a little crappy, and being in front of the cpmputer screen just made me feel worse. Instead there was a mish mash of sleeping, knitting, reading and playing. I did a whole heap of washing (surprise!), and sort of organised the girls clothes area – storage for stuff that didn’t fit, and bought out a heap of stuff for Murph from storage. It was like going on a free shopping trip. So many cute little clothes for her. Umm- we jumped on the Wii bandwagon in the middle weekend of the holidays. Such fun, and great way to expend some energy on the super dooper rainy wecantgooutside days that we had. We only have Wii Sports, and it is competition between Wilbur and Madsion as to who is the bowling champion of the house!
We spent a fair bit of time with Madison and her ‘words’. I think we are now past the red words stage, and creeping into the blue words. Yay. Her reading improved a HEAP too. She also spent alot of time doing her Mathletics – a fabulous online Maths aid. Operation Social Mackenzie went well – she had a few pays at friends houses, and was so so so excited. I love seeing her little face light up!
Hmm – I can hear the little murmur of the Murph waking for her little milk-treat. Must be time to sign off and ready myself for the school rush.

So…
Posted on July 4, 2009

It is school holidays arounds here, and we have been busy. Not super dooper ‘ohmygoodnesswhenareyougoingbacktoschoolIneedarest’ type of busy – just nicely busy.
Operation social Mackenzie is in full swing. The Mackenzinator is meant to start school next year. We are not quite sure if she is going to make it. She’s on that little verge of ‘yep – she’ll be right’, or ‘maybe not’. She loves going to Kinder. Loves it. When she gets there – she has a great time. Plays alongside other children – anyone – which is great. Hasn’t made any ‘buddies’ that she is begging me to have plays with after Kinder. Maybe that’s just the way Mackenzie rolls. Carefree and happy. Her speech is a little, umm, how do we put it – AWKWARD. (is that how you spell awkward – it looks – well – awkward!) She misses alot of letters – but picks them up again when we remind her they should be there. She is on the waiting lit for a speech assessment – that’ll help us I guess. She also has a hearing assessment coming up. We have recently realised maybe it IS a little hard for her to hear. She has a dodgy heart – a hole in her heart and a few other bits and pieces that are ot quite right – leading to a whole lotta swooshing and swishing of blood. the swishing and swooshing of bloood is quite loud, and Mackenzie needs to filter out that noise before she can actually hear anything else. I guess we still have a little while before a concrete decision has to be made – and in that time we will do our best to get her out there and social and having fun!

Time for a funny story……..
We have a couple of goldfish – let me dig up a photo….

The fish at the front – “Sparkle”, and the fish at the back “Star”. (I hope I got their name right!). We have had them for quite a while – they seem to be sturdy little things – which is lucky considering the amount of cleaning the tank gets (let me take my tongue out of my cheek now!). Wilbur changed the water the other day, as per normal. A day later – poof! Sparkle turned belly up (literally). Down the toilet he/she went. The next day – we got a letter from our local water supplier letting us know about the reconnection to a new reservoir water supply. I mentioned to Will that the new water may have been the cause of Sparkles death. he rang the water supplier – just to let them know that maybe their water wasn’t up to scratch. A good 20 minutes later on the phone, haaving been passed slowly up the line to the chief water scientist, Will was calmly informed that the new water hadn’t as yet been connected to our supply as yet, and we were still on the old supply! Whoops. It seems that Sparkles death was due to natural causes! We had a good giggle over it!
Today – DONUT DAY. It is Saturday, and we like to head down to the local market for fresh hot jam donuts and to hunt out some yumbo strawberries. Then I guess it’ll be time for a romp in the playgoround and on the beach whilst dodging the dodgy winter weather that we are having! Enjoy!
