hello….

I do have other children – really I do – but this one is able to be contained in a tub!
This is a part of a project I am undertaking – so fear not – the other M’s WILL feature, even if I have to nail them to the floor!

my perfectly imperfect life – day five
Posted on August 24, 2009
OK – so today was a pretty much perfect imperfectly perfect day (I actually mean yesterday, coz it is now a new day which is today!).
The morning was filled with chook chasing, egg-getting, cubby-making and funstuff. Then we whipped out the Heronswood – a beautiful garden not too far from us. My plan was to try and capture my girls just having fun.

Oh golly – I think I am in LOVE with that image. I can see into her little soul. She may look serene and beautiful – and yes, she is – BUT – I know that was a *moment*, such a tiny moment in all her moments. I know she was plotting her next move. I love her moments. She is still. Calm. Living.

This morning I let the chooks out to free range. Murphy was totally enthralled. The chooks are a fabulous child-friendly plaything. She spent a good hour or so chasing, feeding and loving them. Every now and then I would hear her little voice pipe up with ’shooksh”.

She NEVER looks at me – but I love to capture that wonder……..

…. and those curls……

… and the Mackenzinator…… *sigh*…..

Yes – I do have another beautiful girl. I don’t get to capture her as often as I would like. Tomorrow it is her day. I see balloons, swirly skirts, sun and smiles.

my perfectly imperfect life – day four…

Still playing along with Kate and her perfectly Imperfect life….
We have just put a fence up, and unfortunately we had to lose a few trees. The grass is growing – YAY – how I long for a lush green lawn filled with children, flowers, laughter and fun…… not long until the dirt patch is gone!

my perfectly imperfect life – day three
Posted on August 21, 2009

oh – if only I had some cupboards in the kitchen (or anywhere else for that matter!)
It has been nearly 5 years since we moved into our shack (a term that I use very loosely!), and I am still awaiting a kitchen. We are going to pull this place down eventually, and build a dream home. Still – we are unsure whether to build the dream on this particular piece of land, or find somewhere else that is bigger, more treesy and just, well, more *us*. Until then – we have made our shack into a home, and I guess that is a good thing!

Last weekend I took Hervey to the beach for a little playtime! It was super dooper windy, and super super cold – but he looked like he was enjoying himself. Me – I had a great time…..

I can *feel* spring coming….
Happy daze….

is my girl.

I love her little squishyness to bits. She came into me the other morning, and I pretended I was still asleep. My arm was out, and my hand curled up. Ever so gently she uncurled it, kissed my palm and then curled it up again. Then did it again, and padded off to bed. *sigh* ♥♥♥

my perfectly imperfect ife – day two..
Posted on August 20, 2009

Every day I look at this beautiful metal tub holding all the scrap paper that needs to be recycled. Everyday I tell myself to put it out. Everyday I seem to find other more important things to do. Maybe tomorrow will be the day! Thanks Kate at Picklebums for the perfectly imperfect days……

I’m just sayin’……

There’s alot to contend with as a mum. How’s that for a massive statement!!! No – really – I mean it. This whole being a mum thing can be beautiful, fun etc etc and full of love – but WOW – it can really make you crabby some days! Not pointing my finger at any particular 6 year old girl of course (*wink wink*). Enough said. A very wise person yesterday told be to ‘choose your battles‘. Ok – sure – I can do that.
Let’s have a little catch-up. The Mackenzinator woke up on Monday morning at 4:30am asking for ‘the pot’. Before you start to wonder about the ‘pot’ – it is the vessel we use for (umm – there is no polite way to put this) vomiting in. Needless to say, she required the pot until 8:00pm that night. 100 thousand towel and missed aimings into the pot later – she seems fine now. Phew. Infact – it is 7:00am on Wednesday morning, and she is busy sliding across the floor doing some sort of weird manouevre that only Mackenzie can do!
Madison – ‘choose my battles. That’s all I can say on her right now.
Murphy – her vocabulary is extending. She discovered the wooden spoon last night, and spent the better part of it whacking me on the bottom with it and dissolving into chuckles. So cute. Let me add – whacking with a wooden spoon is not really a regular occurrence around here – she just sort of ‘did it’. I have reintroduced the cloth nappy into the house. I used boring old cloth nappies with Madison and Mackenzie – but got lazy on them. Late last year – I purchased some new ones – the Haute Nappy from Darlings DownUnder. I couldn’t face using them in the early stages of this recent pregnancy – coz really – who wants to be looking at pookey nappies when you are feeling so so so SICK! I have been waiting to purchase a Little Squirt, so that the removal of aforementioned poo is easier – straight down the toilet (it’s a little splashy and vigorous – you need to aim well!), but seems to work. So – we are back to clothing it. Me – I am quite happy, but the MOTH (Wilbur) – can’t quite come to terms with it. Men and poohey nappies just don’t mix. yet he’s quite capable of getting a good smell out of himself when he needs to (if you know what I mean!). There is a little resistance on his end – but I am working on him. As for extra loads of washing, and water usage – there’s not much more. I tend to need to put a daily load on – if not every second day – and the nappies are fine in the bucket once they have been rinsed. It makes for a happy house. makes me feel a little greener.
Wilbur has been super busy outside. he has built a fence, with an electronic remote controlled gate (such a proud man he is now!). I have seen him out there pressing the button for no reason than just to watch his gate open and close. If the electricity bill suddenly shoots upwards – we know why!
Speaking of feeling green (as I was!) – we have recently built a fence around the front of the property, leaving the PERFECT area for a vege patch. It is all marked out – and by marked out I mean that Wilbur has built a little wall for the garden bed, All we need is soil, seeds, sun and water. oh, and someone to weed the damn thing! We are imagining carrots, broccoli, corn, tomatoes and sunflowers this spring. I am not much of a gardener – but let’s see what happens (in all that spare time I have!) I also have Will hard at work making a chook pen. Not his dodgy sort (well – actually – it is a little dodgy) of massive contraption, but one based a little upon the QUEEN chicken coop over at Royal Rooster. So far ours doesn’t look as ‘royal’, but knowing Will, it will be sturdy. Looking forward to getting some chooks in.
Me – well – I am working on ALOT of behind the scenes stuff, and trying to be more organised. I am nearly caught up on all my blog{ART} work, and have some new design ideas in my head – just itching to get out. KCP is rolling along beautifully. I have a few shoots booked in before Christmas – which is fabulous, and I am getting all my behind the scenes stuff sorted for the true KCP launch next year.
Enough yabbering – here’s my piece of peace….
