scallywags at the spot

Posted on November 27, 2005

Here is the first scallywag! She has taken me ages to design - simply because I couldn’t get the hang of drawing in Photoshop - but now I have discovered paths - and I love ‘em!

I am aiming to sell the scallywags (there are plenty of others on the way!) as avatars, and I would also like to do customised avatars, as wekk as scallywag kits - where you buy the kit, and can dress scallywag anyway you like! It will come with one outfit included - and I plan to have other outfits ‘on the rack’ for purchase! Lots of work to be donw - but at least now I am on the right track! This little one took a good three hours to sort out - hopefully others will take less time, as I have the main layers all ready to use as templates! I’m pretty happy with the result - althoug she looks a little fuzzy here. You can check out a better view at the ATS website.

I have had a great day at the computer - I acheived a heap with both study and designing - I’m a happy scallywag!

getting work done

ho ho ho

I thought I’d get into the Christmas spirit - even though it’s still November (for a few days yet!). Just refining some of my Photoshop skills!!

I have been working super hard today at my study - and I thought I deserved a well-earned break! Will took the girls to his parents house yesterday arvo - so I have had plenty of time to catch up on stuff! I didn’t even procrastinate - but after around 6 hours of study - I thought it was time to get creative.

I am in the process of designing a few of these little ’scallywags’ so that I can put them up for sale in my store (whenever that gets up and running!). I have also been busy designing some Christmas brushes - but they are not quite ready for viewing yet!

hmmm……

I was just reading a post over at Shabby Princess’ blog and she popped in this quote:

"I feel thin… sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread. I need a holiday. A very long holiday. And I don’t expect I shall return. In fact I mean not to.”  (Lord of the Rings)

I know exactly how she feels!  I must admit I feel this way at times - but then again don’t we all…………………

I thought I would reflect a little on Thanksgiving - even though we done’t celebrate it here ‘downunder’ - but I have plenty to be thankful of!

I have a superb husband - even though he stayed out partying until 3am this morning and has gone back to bed feeling worse for wear!  He’s a great bloke, and I love him dearly.  Of course - I am very thanful for my two gorgeous little scallywags - where would I be without them…………….on a beach in Tahiti - with out the ‘mum I want…..’!

I am thankful for the rest of my family - mum is great - always there, as is MIL and FIL - they are just great.  I am very happy that we are all in such good health (although Will probably isn’t feeling it now) - health is sooo important - Mackenzie has shown us that by soldiering on through her ‘dicky ticker’.

Life is great - the sun is sunning and the sky is blue, my family is beautiful - what more could a girl want.

yummo

My two mini scallywags were munching away on apples the other day, and they just looked so innocent and yummy! I just had to pop them into a layout.

The papers and elements are all from Jasbeanie’s Perppermint Twist of Life Kit. the colours are fantastic - nice and bright - they really complement the whole ‘apple’ thing!

……………………….

After 13 long months - finally we have given Mackenzie’s rollover feed the chop!  Yes - I know - maybe we took our time - but to be hinest - didn’t want the repurcussions! I decided to become a tough mum  phoar!!!!  It worked - the first night - she woke up twice through the night and screamed non-stop for 40-odd very looong minutes - way too long at 1:00am - but nevertheless - we pulled through (somewhat bleary eyed and groogy!).  guess what - she survived (so did we!).  Anyway - last nigh was the third night - and she slept thgough the entire (yes - I will repeat that - ENTIRE) night without so much as a grunt!!  (silly smile)!

The day is so much nicer when you have had a full night’s sleep - I love it :).

The Dooce

Posted on November 25, 2005

I have just come across a fantastically funny site / blog - www.dooce.com .  It is a light-hearted look at a woman and her life - but extremely funny and very well-written!  It’s a great read!!!!!

Apparently today is Thanksgiving in the USA.  It seems that us Aussies have less celebrations that the Americans - why is that?  It’s not as if we don’t enjoy celebrating - I mean check out Australia Day - any reason to have fireworks, and we are there!!!!  I hope all you americans are having a great day - eating lots of turkey, and generally having fun!

new stuff………………

I’ve been working on some papers for my first digi kit! Thought I’d throw in an image so I can record the process from the beginning!

I love the brightness of this - I have no idea how to texture it yet - but I’m sure I will learn………………….one day!!!!!

I’m designing a kit based around some of Madison’s clothes - they are bright and quite spunky - hopefully I will be able to convey that in my kit!

………….I made it to typepad!

This is soooo user friendly!

The perfect spot for all my ramblings! I have so much to do and so little time!

About me……………

I am a web designer and digital scrapbook designer in training! I have a website in progress at The Spotted Cow where I plan to offer web hosting for anyone wanting to make their mark on the wide world that is the web! I will also offer web design (of course), including onlie shop installation, and other various bits and pieces.

As far as digi-scrapping goes - I only started recently, and am lucky enough to be part of a mentor program at Digi Scrap Designer. I plan to open up my only little boutiqe (or milk bar!) at The Spotted Cow so that I can sell my own designs. Ultimately I would love to have a design team, and see what some of the fantastically talented digi-scrappers can do with my designs!

For now………………I am busy trying to become friends with Adobe Photoshop - hard work - I am beginning to think it wants to be lonesome - but we are coming to an understanding!

This is one of my beautiful children - Mackenzie - enjoying the water. Such delight from something so small! I love it………………………
