Yep – all the girlies in da house are crook!

My poor little girlies – they are barking like little dogs!  M2 especially!  At least she still has time to giggle – and it’s a very throaty giggle.  She gets soo hot too – my own little furnace!  M1 – she just gets cranky and tired – although she did have a huge 2.5 hour nap today – why can’t she always do that!  She has been such a cranky thing lately.  We have made a deal with each other – I won’t yell at her – if she doesn’t yell at me.  If she does yell -I will put her toy of the moment away, until she decides she is going to be my nice girl again.  Seems a little extreme – and I am no ’super nanny’ – but hey – whatever works! Missed TKD tonight coz of being crook – I didn’t want to be sneezing and suffling through the whole shebang!  I don’t think I could have co-ordinated it with all the bowing!

I am working on a new kit for charity at the moment.  I don’t think I can disclose it – but the colours are gorgeous!  Well done to the colour-picker – which wasn’t me BTW!

Since I have nothing more useful to say – sleep well!

Anyway – onwards and upwards!  I have been burning the candle at both ends a little – so I am paying for it now!  I have a snotty stuffy nose, and I am really really tired.  In fact – I should really be in bed fast asleep – but I have a chat to host tonight at CLIKCHIC!  Maybe I will get the chance to sleep in tomorrow! NOT!!  My girls seem to think that 6:00am is THE time to get out of bed.  Goodness knows what will happen when daylight saving finishes.  AARRGGHHH!!!!

I am going to work on some layouts tonight – I picked up some fantastic kits from Designer Digitals.  Katie and the team there just absolutely R.O.C.K.!

How coool are all of those!  Now I just need to  do some serious scrapping!  I love all the stuff in that store – it’s all original – and really inspiring!  Top notch!

A big shout out to those ACE people that left me some lovely uplifting comments on my last post, AND about my new kit.  I really appreciate it.  Who doesn’t love to feel loved!

There are a couple HOT HOT HOT threads on at 2 peas at present.  Once is about whther the digi-scrap industry will become too big for the amount of designers, and another is about why people start desigining – whether to make money or not etc etc. 

Firstly – yes – so there are around 300 designers plus more – BUT hey – how many companies make jeans, socks, undies etc!  That is the way I look at it!  Yeah – there are definately some designers out there who are super popular (like your BONDS brand underwear!), and then there are the designers that are a little more obscure (sorry – no brand for them!) – but as long as everyone is happy – well good. 

I have started designing simply because I love it.  I have always been creative – but have never been able to express my creativeness.  I have finally found a medium that is working for me – and I htoroughly enjoy it.  I am definately not desigining to make mega-bucks (but gee – it would be nice!).  I design coz i enjoy it, and I get a kick out of the fact that someone else might be enjoying what I create.  Yes – I realise that I haven’t even sold a kit yet – but who cares – I am having fun – and if can make someones memories that little bit special – then so be it – I wanna do that!!

I don’t know if I am any good – I like to think what I make is a bit of alright – I guess I wil be able to tell when I start selling (which BTW IS happening next week!  BUT – more on that later in the post!).  If no-one buys my kits – oh well – I have managed to create something for myown use, and relax while I enjoy a great hobby.  I am not going to beat myself up over trying to get popular etc etc/  I just wanna enjoy the process, and it is a bonus if I get a little following!

As far as freebies go – I fell they have their place – too many can really be detrimental to the market – but there can be a good balance – look at Shabby Princess for example.  She has a monthly FANTASTIC freebie, and stil manages to sell her awesome kits (coz they are S U P E R awesome).  I plan on continuing my weekly ‘alpah’ (although – sorrry – this weeks is still not ready!) – and I will chuck out a RAK or two – coz I love to spread the love!

Anyway – having said all that – I can now announce that I will be selling my schtuff at Clikchic Designs.  It’s a small Aussie store (and hey – I am an Aussie – so what a match).  There is nothing of mine there yet – it is on its way – but bookmark the page! 

I have spent the last day or so working on recustomising a forum at All Things Scrapbooking.  I am doing its make-over bit by bit – it is eventually going to move to a site called She-essence – hence the she-essence logo!  The board was the very plain and boring phpBB standard – but I am in the middle of designing new icons and bits and pieces.  It’s a load of fun – I wish Ihad more time!  Have a visit – it’s a lovely little scrapbooking community – that isn’t just scrapbooking related – it is moving towards the essence of YOU – hence the name!  It’ll be T.O.P.S. when it is complete!

OK – I have to go and get some sleep – all this computer stuff is making my eyes square!!!!!!!

Okeydokey – how can people come and visit – download stuff, and not even say thanks!  Surely it is common courtesy.  I know I am not as well-known as many many others – but still….  I am beginning to feel I am yapping away here to myself – at least I get some good answers that way!

Please if you visit – come out of lurkdom and say g’day.  I’m just a little Aussie who is wanting to make some new mates whilest enjoying this ACE digi-scrapping shebang!

OKAY – that’s it for my gripe!

I had my third taekwondo class tonight.  I love it.  Tonight was all about kicking and punching.  HAH!  What a great feeling to make contact on the pads.  I actually felt like I knew what I was doing a little this evening!

I haven’t got any ‘kid stuff’ tonight – the girls do heaps of quirky stuff – but by the time I get to the blog – I have forgotten it all!  Maybe I should take a ‘blog book’ everywhere I go!!!

I was reading Gina’s blog this morning (as I do, and so does everyone else!) – and having a good old giggle at the whole ‘tart wagon’ she has started.  I wanna get me some o’ those tarts – but I don’t want to have to buy from overseas!  I’ve just been on a google hunt – and no luck. Bugger!

This is just a quickie – it’s past midnight – and I am a little tired.

I am still getting over my CT thing – especially now that the team has actually been announced.  It’s such a bummer – but I guess these things happen!  I have immersed myself in designing – and this is what I have come up with:

What a blast it was to make!  Not too bad for a first ‘full’ kit! (if I do say so myself!).. I am not quite sure what to do with it – I would love to sell somewhere – ideally my own store – but I just don’t have time right now to set one up!  I’ll just keep it and see what happens!

OK – a little CT update.  Firstly – thanks very much to those that left me congratulatory comments – I appreciate them. BUT – guess what – due to a few reasons (nothing too major) – I am no longer going to be on the CT.  Yes – it is a bit of a bummer – but in the end – the best decision all round.  Just one of those things.  The fact that I was even accepted and considered good enough was a fantastic boost for me, and I still have a big grin from ear to ear every time I think about it!  Anyway – onwards and upwards.

I am going to get super stuck into designing and creating.  I have just about finished the website at www.assentialscrapbooking.com – and it’s finally nearly looking ok.  I need to upload some layout images onto the gallery, and fix a couple of bits and pieces – then all is good.  Then after that – I have three more sites to design PLUS my own!  YEAH!

The girls and I caught the train into the city yesterday to whip in and see some of the Commonwealth Games.  The city is alive and buzzing. It looks great and clean.  It was a hard long dayfor the girls – but the train trip was a big buzz for Madison.  Mackenzie couldn’t care less – she just wanted OUT of her pram!

My yummy husband is flat on his back today.  Poor lad.  He has hurt his back working – and I think h’s in a fair bit of pain.  All Madison wants to do is jump all oevr him.  Mackenzie is still in bed (lucky her!) – and I’m sure she will want to do some jumping too!

Hey gues what?  I am so excitied? I got a rather unexpected eamil today congratulating me that I had been selected to join a Creative Team!  How cool is that?  I won’t list the name yet – coz I want to make sure it is super official.  WOW.  I nearly fell off my chair.  I haven’t applied for a CT before – coz I felt my layouts were not really that good, and I really only wanted to apply for a CT that I ‘dreamed’ of working with / for (if you get my gist!).  Thats’ not to say I don’t love all designs – it’s just that some ‘click’ better for me than others do.  Anthow – I bit the bullet and applied -and I was accepted!  How cool is that.  I am over the moon!  I’ll post more details tomorrow!

until then – here is my latest ‘alpah’ for you.  Yes – I think I will call them alpah’s.  Simply because I seem to be typographically challenged when it comes to writing alpha, and it more often than not comes out as alpah – so I am sick of changing it!!!

Personally – I think this one is cute.  I have some paper idea coming for it too.  I know it is very girly – but it just turned out that way! Next time – all boy all the way!

FINALLY – we have lights in the kitchen.  Will (husband) has been pottering around ‘renovating’ for ages, and our new spotlighty type things have been sitting on top of the fridge (oh so useful!) for ages upon ages.  Andy the ’sparky’ came today and installes them with a dimmer switch – now I can emulate a romantic mood whilst cooking bangers and mash if I desire!

This photo was taken a little over five years ago when Will and I first started officially ‘dating".  The prvious 14 years had been spent growing up together as really good friends – each of us worshipping the ground the other walked on – but the timing was never right for us to get together.  Once it finally happened – we knew it was {love}.

– at least – not yet!  I have a long way to go!  I had my second taekwondo class this evening, and have come to the conclusion that I need to find myself another left leg – coz the one I have is not doing its job at all!  OK – so I am no spring chicken (yep – I’m 33 – more like an early summer chook!) – but still – you’d think my left leg would be ablt to take orders from my brain by now.  Noooooo – not a chance!  There are some little whipper snappers in the class that are less than half my age, and they are jumping around with the best of ‘em.  It’s probably because their centre of gravity is much lower to the ground than mine – that’s my excuse, and dagnabbit – I am stickin’ to it!

Madison had her swimming lesson today – she has gone backwards!  Little chatterbox today – the teacher had a great giggle at whatever Madison was yapping about!  She’ such a cutie when she swims, and you know that thing kids do when they need to w*ee – Madison was doing it, and trying to swim all at once (hope she doesn’t get my co-ordination problems!).  Naah – she’ll be right!

OKay – the {21 day challenge}.  It’s over – I still need to do days 19, 20 and 21 – on paper (computer screen!) – but my head and heart are now complete!  I am feelingso much more at peace with myself – and haven’t sweated the small stuff as much as I usually would.  A big thank-you to Rhonna Farrer for getting me motivated and inspired with the art journal!!!  I feel nicely complete.

Hey guess what!  I applied for my first evah CT?  Yep – I am not going to disclose where – coz – well just coz!  I’m feeling a little nervous to be honest!  I think the layouts I submitted were all really good – but I guess it’s not up to me!

I got a whole heap of scrapping done last weekend – I’ll have to upload the pics soon!  Right now – I want to finish the site I have been working on, and then get started with the next three that I have lined up – I might get to finish (or at least start) my own soon!!!
