butterfly in the bathroom…
Posted on December 30, 2007
oh yes folks - in the bathroom. where else would you keep a weary, dodgy looking moth that has been ‘collected’ in a sippy cup? I kid you not. Then - after being left there for the majority of a 30-odd degree day - it was ‘let out’ into the forest (read - overgrown up to my knee weeds) in the back yard. I am not overly sure if it is still alive - but I AM sure that none of its mates have had the "M" experience!!!!!
OK - so tomorrow is New Years Eve. A time where traditionally we all make insane resolutions that we promise to keep for the ear ahead, but we end up breaking after say….. 2 days (well - that pavlova DID look especially good!). Me - I am not a huge resolution person - especially not this year - coz as soon as I make ‘em - I forget them. Maybe I put them in a ’safe place’ - to be retrieved later - much later - but then left to be forgotten, along with all the other stuff in the safe place!
Before I elaborate more on NY resolutions - let’s talk about ’safe’ places. I have a safe place. So safe - that I have no idea where it is - but it sure umst be big - coz there’s alot of stuff in it!!! We have a very small house, and it is really hard for me to find anywhere ’safe’ to put things so that I don’t lose them, or forget where they are. So - I must have found somewhere super safe - coz there’s a whole heap of stuff I can’t find - ANYWHERE! Unfortunately - I can’t remember where the safe place is!!! Can’t wait to find it - it’ll be like Christmas!
Oh oh oh - let’s talk about Christmas shall we. My darling husband gave me one of these….

Just what every person needs - who knows what it is!? (of course I know what it is!). Wilbur is SUCH a great present-giver (hold on whilst I take my tongue out of my cheek, and wipe the sarcasm away from my mouth!).
Maybe next year - I will be the lucky recipient of one of these….

Hmm - back to NY resolutions. I haven’t any - except maybe to not procrastinate as much as I do. I am going to try to do things as I think of it - and not leave it until later. It’s a tough one for me - as I am super scatterbrained at the best of times - and my mind is always running at a million miles an hour, jumping from one thing to another.
I do know that I have an extra 10kg to shed thanks to M3! So yeah - I’ll be making an extra concerted effort to do that - even though I am already - so it’s not really taking a NY resolution for that one!

mumble mumble groan groan…
Posted on December 29, 2007
..that’s the noise my dear husband is making right now - coz he ate way too much roast farm. No - you are not mistaken - I did say roast farm, and yes - it very nearly was an entire farm. We went to his parents for Christmas yesterday, and had said roast farm for lunch today. Apparently roast at the Clark house does not just stop at a lamb, pig, cow or chook. Why decide to have just one, have ‘em all instead! Me - i am not a huge meat eater - so a bit of chook breast does me just fine - but Will on the other hand…. you’d think he has never eaten meat before. Dear lad - he’s now lying on the bed with a huge tummy ache. Serves him right for tinking that he needed to have not just seconds, but thirds of each animal, PLUS a santa stocking full of chocolate. All that mixed with way too many beers from last night - not a god mix!!!!! Ah well - he’ll be right after a nap.
Okay - so he turned up at 10:00am Christmas morning - I left a Santa hat out for him, and he snuck (is that a word!) in the back door. oh my - the girls nearly toppled him over with their love. It was gorgeous. By this stage, we had already opened up the presents that the lovely - but extremely messy Santa left. Hopefully next year - Mrs Claus will remind the jolly old man that it is not ‘good manners’ to allow your faithful steed to enter a strangers home (or any home for that matter), to consume carrots, oats, sprinkles and milk, and then have the audacity to leave a trail of said carrots, oats, sprinkles and milk from the table back to the front door. miraculously - the trail stopped at the door - didn’t go outside at all! How strange!!!!! Maybe by next year, Santa will have also learnt to chew with him mouth closed, and eat ALL the biscuits left out for him - not just a select few.
The girls were extremely spoiled by Santa - they each received a Barbie laptop (the big M’s), and a multitude of books, puppets and other fantastic imaginary stuff. M1 also received a camera - she absolutely LOVES it - maybe another photographer in the making! M3 wasn’t left out - check out this….

I am sure there are some more photos lurking around the hard drive - must sort them out.

presents are all wrapped and stacked…..
Posted on December 24, 2007
Yippee - I cannot wait to see the faces on my girls when their Daddy walks through the door tomorrow morning! The contract he was on has been cancelled, and he has managed to fly home just in time to share this magical day with his girls. The M’s have absolutely no idea he is coming at all, and I am beyond excited. We haven’t seen him for 8 weeks, so the last time he saw his littlest M - she was only two weeks old. I am sure there will be plenty of happy tears tomorrow morning. Ok - so I confess - I have some now!!!!
All of the presents are wrapped and stacked - cookies and milk are out for Santa, reindeer food (oats and sprinkles) and carrots out for Rudolph and his buddies.
Sorry - the colour is dodgy - but I want to go to bed!!!

I’ll bet you never knew you could have this much fun with empty toilet rolls!!!!

Look who is 10 weeks old today! She’s an absolute champ of a kid! Sleeps beautifully all night, and struggles a little through the day - but she s happy! Daddy is going to get a huge shock when he sees her!

Check out these beautiful peepers!

Doesn’t this little smile melt your heart!!!

Here’s her little buddy that was born 4 days before her….

Oh - and they are already making faces for the camera…

There’s more where that came from!!!!!!
Okeydokey - I HAVE to get some sleep. Big day tomorrow. Before I go….

We have been super busy bees in the past few days. I set the girls up at the bench esterday morning with a blank gingerbread house, and a couple of tubs of lollies (the M’s thought Christmas was early!)..

After some serious lolly organising…..

and a lesson in lolly sticking….

we had a finished product….

While the house was being decorated, I was in charge of copping up and packaging the brownie and gourmet rocky road. Yummo. Unfortunately the brownie was so delish, I ate the rest of it. Now I will need to make another batch!

M1 had her Kinder concert and graduation tonight. It was just beautiful. She has really blossomed this year, and I am too proud! Once I finish the DVD - I will post a copy of the video footage!!!! She has made some beautiful friends, who will hopefully be around for many years to come!!!

Last but not least - here’s M3 and myself!

Okay - must finish DVD, and then sleep for a million hours…..

lock your ears mum…
Posted on December 20, 2007
We were in the car, and M1 was singing a song she had learnt at Kinder - ‘Skinamrinka’. Hmm. Anyway - I was about to hear it for the thousand time, when I asked if she could sing a different one! She said ‘Ok Mummy - I’ll sing you the surprise song for the concert, but you are not allowed to hear it, so I’ll lock your ears’ So - my ears were locked. Then she said ‘Mummy can you hear me’- "No" - I dutifully replied!!!!

I was trying to do some super dooper important internet banking tonight, and what did I do - typed in the wrong password or login name - not once…. but three times. Now I can’t access internet banking until tomorrow morning at 8am. Bugger. It’s not like I WANT to see how much money I have spent in the last few days with Christmas shopping and stuff - but I DO need to pay some bills and stuff (with all that money I spent!). Drats. Now I have to sleep on it tonight!
Silly me - I came up with a wonderful fundraising idea for M1’s Kinder. A DVD of their end of year concert, slideshow of the various photos taken throughout the year, with their singing accompanying the slideshow. Me and my bright ideas. Thank-goodness Larry is making it easy for me with iDVD and iMove! Yay. I am still fumbling around a little, but something will work out!!!! As I type this - I am waiting for an import of some video to finish. I am very ready for bed though!
Did the big Ikea shop yesterday. All went well. Yeah - it’s good, cheap stuff, but because it is so cheap, you get tricked into buying a whole heap of stuff, then you get a shock at the checkout!!!! Ha ha ha. I purchased everything I needed, and some extra. Storage solutions - a phrase that sucks me in EVERY time! I don’t just need a storage solution - my storage equation is huge!! Our house doesn’t have a single cupboard in it - so storage is a real issue - especially with two busy little girls, and one husband who thinks he needs to bring home everything he sees ‘just in case’ or ‘it could be useful for…’! Love you Wilbur!
Okay - so now I am tomorrow morning - ie - the morning after last night when I started ang forgot about this post!!!
The girls and I made some rocky road yesterday. Actually - let me rephrase that - it was gourmet rocky road. You know what made it gourmet - the roasted pistachio nuts. Why oh why didn’t mine look as good as the picture. I put the same stuff in - surely it should come out the same. Taste ok - although to me - gourmet means smoked salmon, crayfish, and all the yummy things in life - NOT just roasted pistachios! I also made a ‘pleb’ version as well - used mint chip chocolate instead of the nuts. Have to cater for the nut intolerant of us!!!! Whilst I was in a cooking frenzy, I whipped up a chocolate brownie thing. Same page in the recipe book as the gourmet rocky road, so how could I not make it!!!! Tasted a bit of alright too!!! Ripper - so there’s a few Christmas presents done and dusted! Yay!
Today I need to finish off the XMAS DVD of the Pre-School groups. I can’t completely finish until I record their concerts tonight and tomorrow night - but hopefully I can be just about done. Me and my big ideas!!!! Never again will I have an idea!
Christmas cards - haven’t sent ‘em yet. Have the wonderful photo, the blank cards to stick it onto and the sticky dot thingummy’s that are supposed to be photo-safe (what - does that mean they are not going to jump out a hurt the photo?) - but - I haven’t got the essential ingredient - time!!!!! Ah - who said Christmas cards had to be sent before Christmas!!!???
OK - so this morning, the girls ‘decorated’ (I use the term decorated extremely loosely!!) the gingerbread house that I put together!!!! I’ll post a photo of the process and final masterpiece later (in all my spare time!), Whilst they were doing that - I wrapped and ribboned some brownie and rocky road gifts! If I do say so myself - I’d be a happy recipient of one of those scrumdiddlyumptious pressies!!!!

Did a smidge of Christmas Shopping today - am thinking I should become a shareholder at Pumpkin Patch:

plus some other gorgeous things that I can’t find on the site!
Then - did some impulse - this’ll do - buying at Toys ‘ r ‘ us - and got THE bucket that M2 wanted - but couldn’t find any Pooh-bear for her! Found M1’s ring and necklace, plus a few other bibs and bobs!

Am heading off the Ikea tomorrow to get some adultish gifts, including a few of these (thanks Lanne for the inspiration! - she created the one below!))…

How good are these -

I am going to get a few vases like that one, and fill them with homemade rocky road, chocolate stars and brownie (in all that spare time I have!!!). That’s the plan - I’ll see how I go!!!
Loving this….

Ok - enough browser shopping - time to sleep!

Santa is coming……
Posted on December 15, 2007
I asked M1 what she wants Santa to bring her:
1. a sparkly wand and shoes (yep)
2. A pink princess dress (ok)
3. a bracelet, ring and necklace set just like last Christmas (easy!)
4. a camera (already purchased - a great kids camera!)
5. a computer (hmm - Santa won’t be coming to the party on that one!!!)
Do you think she is going all girly on me!!!!
M2 on the other hand - is quite happy to order from Santa - but doesn’t want to have to look at him!!!
1. lollies (very unspecific!)
2. pooh bear (not sure what sort - but Santa will know!)
3. a bucket (hmmm - ok!)
I have already purchased the camera, and a totem tennis game for the back-yard. That is the extent so far of my shopping! Monday is designated Christmas shopping day. Ikea has some fabulous stuff - so I am making the trip up with a buddy of mine!!!!
