getting things done

getting things done

That’s how I roll at the present.  Getting. Things. Done.  I have ALOT to do. I spent today doing it.  Inbetween turning somersaults with the Mackenzinator and clapping when Murph stood up!  I have a waiting list on blog{ART} longer than my legs – and I have it on good authority that my legs are long (thanks darling Wilbur).  So – for now – the wait list is closed.  Gotta catch up before I go crazy!

Speaking of Wilbur – he is home tomorrow night.  I have three little girls that are almost jumping out of their little bodies to jump on him.  Get in line kids!  I am first!

Today – editing, blog{ART}ing, troubleshooting, problem solving and a bit of fun thrown in.  Lots of reading with the Mackenzinator.  She is in Kinder this year – and LOVES it.  We are not 100% positive that she is going to make it to school next year.  That’s just how she is.  She is going to be assessed by a speech therapist next term – just to see where we are at.   So – we picked up some extra books from Kinder yesterday – coz it gets a little tiring reading the same ones over and over (I guess that’s why there is a libraby – but I ALWAYS forget to return my books!).  She picked four books – all about some sort of sealife.  So we sat.  And read.  And read again.  Each time she was enthralled.  Murph is getting into the whole book thing too.  She has two special sturdy books of her own.  She pickes them up and sits on the couch for a peek.  So sweet.  We make the appropriate animal noise – well – I do – she just giggles and looks at me as if to say – “hey mum – why are you making that funny noise!”  I giggle back and tickle her.  Love.

Madison trotted off to HIP HOP tonight.  Such a little groover.  I haven’t seen many of her moves yet – although she did show me some sort of very un-PG-rated gyration the other day! We sat down and read her books tonight too.  Finally she is starting to ‘get it’.  Yay!

I MUST share these edits from AGES ago.

I LOVE grandad’s face in this one!

I LOVE the playfulness of this one!

Tomorrow -Kenzie has Kinder, Murph has Take a break and Madison has school.  I get two and a half hours of child-freeness.  It’s my time for a run -  6km running in the morning – gotta get ready for the Run For The Kids on 5th April.  Please whip over to here and read my story – and sponsor or donate – it is for a VERY worthy cause – the Royal Children’s Hospital.

The afternoon – naptime for the Kenz and the Murph before Mackenzie’s cardiologist appointment (hence the Run For the Kids to raise money for the RCH!). The it must be time to get Madison home and all settled before the Cyclone walks through that door!

she stands…

she stands...

Only stands.  It seems that the fleeting moment of walking was just that.  Fleeting!  Maybe she’s saving herself.  Maybe she walks everywhere behind my back.  Maybe she is just being stubborn.  Maybe she is just NOT ready.  Who knows.  I don’t even think SHE knows!  But hey – that’s how we roll around here.  in a state of unknow!  Since her ‘walking’ a few days ago – Murph has since learnt how to bum shuffle.  Now she bum shuffles everywhere when she wants to take something with her – usually an item of food.  Have YOU tried crawling with a banana in your hand – not a good look.  She CAN stand though.  Look up there.  PROOF!  Only on her own terms.  She stands and smiles and giggles.  We all give a raucous cheer and she sits!  It’s a fabulous game.

She’s one cool kid.

Mackenzie had to make her first MAJOR decision today.  She is going on an excursion with Kinder – on the double-decker bus.  On a picnic.  She had a choice – she could take any one or more of Daddy, Murphy and myself.  A few days ago it was emphatically Daddy.  Then Madison (not an option!).  Then back to Daddy.  Finally the Murph and I got a look in this morning.  her teacher and I let her know that she needed to decide by the end of the Kinder session today.  I really wanted her to make the choice.  yes – I would LOVE to come along – but I also wanted her to be able to choose and have special Daddy-time.  In the end – Daddy was the winner.  Yay for Mackenzie.  yay for Daddy – and super yay for the double decker bus! We told Daddy today – and he is VERY excited!  Maybe I could squish in at the back?

I have omitted to tell Daddy that he is on sausage sizzle duty on Saturday morning at bunnings for the Kinder fundraiser.  *:30am – 10:30am.  Surely he’ll enjoy it.  Possibly even eat more than he sells.  Who knows!  Good luck to him!

On that note – here’s a little munchkin that I ‘did’ the other day!

girl-tribe time

We took some time out this afternnon to just be.  Splashing in the shallows.  Popcorn in the sand.  Bubbles and balloons. Cartwheels and swirls.  Perfect in everyway.  Oh so needed.

Tomorrow – body pump, swimming for M2 and M3, Kinder for M2, school for M1.  Lots of to-ing and fro-ing.  Not as much time for cartwheels and twirls.  Still time for LOVE.

going solo

Murphy LOVES it when the big M’s are not at home to badger her.  It means she can play and explore, without being lovingly (used loosely) dragged around!  She discovered the trike this morning, and spent a good half hour climbing on it!

Who doesn’t LOVE bubbles.  My M’s LOVE LOVE LOVE them – and I must admit – I am a bit of a fan too!  We ran out of bubble mix – so I whipped some up!

A quiet Mackenzie moment – oh so fleeting but oh so beautiful.

I totally LOVE these images of Madison.  Twirling, swirling, dreaming dizzy and happy.  Not a care in the world.  Totally out of focus – yet totally focused.

woohoo - she walks........

I am one proud mamma today!  (I am a proud mamma everyday – but today is super special!).  My little itsy bitsy M – who is not really little anymore at 17months – FINALLY took her first steps!  Here she is in all her glory.  I particularly like the pause and ‘poohey’! Thank goodness it was all air!

just a quickie

Coz this child is so cute, and Tuesday is a non-stop day.

M2 and M3 had swimming this morning (ably assisted by moi), and then M2 had Kinder this arvo.  M3’s new nappies arrived today – she is co cute in them – check them out up there – along with her stinkingly gorgeous babylegs (www.babylegs.com.au). Haven’t had a chance to sit and scratch myself – maybe later!!!!

Tonight – need to do shopping, reading, dinner, bath, bed for M’s, then prepare for a newborn squishy wishy shoot tomorrow, finish of a fabulous blog or two as well as a gorgeous crotcheted ‘thing’ for tomorrow’s shoot!  I’ll fit a bit of sleep in there too!  Yeehaa!

the giant duck, the genius and the tooth

the giant duck, the genius and the tooth

Look what flew in today!  Scientific name – gigantous duckus (not to be confised with gigantous duckass -  common mistake of yesteryear!).  The girls and I managed to entice him inside and we made him a hat!  (the word ‘we’ is used very loosely – it was actually ‘I’!)

Funnily enough – the duck’s head size is similar to that of a newborn – so I’ll be trying it out (the hat – NOT the duck) on my next squishy wishy babe.

Next – the GENIUS!  This child may be 16.5 months old, and CANNOT walk or stand to save herself (she can’t even walk when not trying to save herself), BUT – she CAN hold a pen!

m3-drawingNo fluke either – does it consistently, and really thinks about it first.  So cute.  Who says you need to walk (or stand) to be a genius!

This brings me to the tooth.  Madison has already lost her bottom two front teeth – and the fully grown teeth are nearly completely through.  The top two teeth and bottom fangs have been getting ‘wobblier’ and ‘wobblier’.  Tonight – IN THE BATH – the top right tooth fell out.  have you EVER tried looking for a tooth in the bath? No? Me either.  Not sure if it was luck or not, but I happened to get it first scoop (thank goodness) – maybe I have a tooth in the bath scooping knack.  Time will tell I guess!

I stuck the tooth to a card for the tooth fairy, and Madison wrote a note:

madison-tooth

(for those not up to speed with the vocabulary and spelling skills of a child in grade One – ‘I love you fairy you are the best fairy in the world‘.  *sigh* So grown up.  ♥

The other day – I was lucky enough to w=go to Miss KT’s house and play photographer with her and her super sweet baby girl – Miss A.  Miss A was in a rush to come into this world – 5 weeks early.  She – like Mackenzie has a dodgy ticker – but is a real trooper and is doing well.  Have a look for yourself!  (I must give credit to Kate from IHS for the inspiration for the above photo – thanks Kate!)
