that’s just the way it is.

I am not going to pop in here and make all sorts of excuses for my lack of blogging – or lack of anything rather.  When you combine a nearly 5 year old with whooping cough and  28 week pregnant mum of three humans, 4 chooks and one dog (that has a tendency to miraculously houdini himself out of the yard and rummage through everyone’s rubbish), a supposedly invincible MacBookPro that up and stopped last week (requiring three days of ‘hospitalisation’ at Apple), did I mention total exhaustion from dealing with sleepless whooping vomiting nearly 5 year old for three weeks now, a todo blog{ART} list a mile long PLUS a few KCP shoots thrown in – THINGS WENT A LITTLE WONKY MORE WONKY THAN I COULD IMAGINE.  ALL. AT. ONCE.

I am starting to come out of the fog slowly, and even sofar as daring to look at my MASSIVE todo lists.  They are super scary, but I am going to get through them.  SLOWLY.

Right now though, it is school holiday time.  Specifically today is AFL Grand Final Day.  To be honest – I couldn’t give two hoots about who wins – but good on ‘em.  Enjoy the arctic like weather that Melbourne has put on for the day.

Yesterday felt like the depths of winter – only it was spring.  My shack was surrounded by puddles waist deep (possibly a slight exaggeration) and the chooks were loving it.  Silly me – I took the girls out to do the grocery shopping. Apparently every man and his dog had the same idea.  Silly silly people.  My youngest M’s fell asleep in the car during the 5 minute drive to the shopping centre.  As we arrived and fought our way through the throngs of SILLY people – the heavens opened AGAIN.  Why do I not carry umbrellas in the car – oh that’s right – it is SPRING folks – I shouldn’t need one!  Eons later, shopping was done.  Heavens were still open.  Stopped on the way home and hired a couple of DVD’s.  I figured yesterday was a good day to veto my dislike of having the TV on during the day.  The girls watched 101 Dalmations whilst Murphy and I napped.  I even managed to start and nearly finish reading Mama Mia by Mia Freedman.  A great read.  Highly recommend it for any mum who has gone through the ups and downs of balancing work, life, motherhood and just being!

I even hired a DVD or two for me to unwind with.  Last night it was Secret Life of Bees.  A beautiful movie – just enough feel to it.  The light was gorgeous.  This morning I am going to curl up on the couch (maybe even get out of my PJ’s) and watch Fireflies in the Garden.  I MUST reiterate here.  I am not an avid movie watcher.  In fact I rarely watch them. I NEVER hire out a movie for me – coz I ALWAYS fall asleep during them, and never make enough time to watch before the overnight due back thing is expired.  For some reason unbeknown to me – I have a feeling to do just that.  Sit and watch and snuggle with my tribe.  Something for ME!  That’s just the way it is.

PlanningQueen - We don’t hire movies often. I have given up hiring ones for me, as I bring them home, they sit near the TV for 24 hours, then I have to return them unwatched. I hope you enjoyed Fireflies int he garden.
