upsy downsy…

Oh my – what few days I have had!

Wind back to Sunday night – middle of the night – M2 wakes up for the toilet – runny poo – uh oh – alarm bells start ringing. She was up continuously for the rest of the night, absolutely doubled over in pain with tummy cramps every time she was on the loo.  Then M1 starts complaining of a sore tummy.  Both stayed home from creche on Monday, and spent the entire day on the couch dozing.  luckily for me, a friend came over to watch the girls while I had my haircut!  Then she came back in the evening when I had to go and be all presidential for the Kinder AGM!  So…. another wakeful night was had by all on Monday night – except M3 – she slept from 9:30pm until 7:30am – what a gem.  if only I had too!  By Tuesday, M1 was feeling a little better, but M2 was still in agony – so off to the Dr we went.  Viral gastro.  Just ride it out.  Yep.  So – still no improvement by Wednesday, as it was time for a check-up with Dr L. (paediatrician) I took M2 in and told Dr L the story.  The conclusion – dysentery.  My poor little girl.  Straight onto antibiotics for both of the girls – just to make sure, and a huge warning to me to be super careful so that M3 doesn’t get crook.  Ahh.  Viral gastro indeed.  I just knew she was sicker than that.  Anyway – she is on the mend now, and hopefully will be all better by the weekend.

Dr L. took a quick look at M3 – seems she is lactose intolerant. Yay- another baby that can’t take my milk too well.  (note the huge amount of sarcasm there!)  She is on Infant gaviscon to sort out her little tummy, and WOW – what a difference it has made.  She’s in much less pain – thank-goodness.  She is still asleep, and it’s 9:00am (her last feed was at 4:30am!).

Okay – that was started yesterday (Thursday) – it’s now Friday – see how busy I get……..

I think the girls have turned the corner.  Thank goodness.  No running to the toilet in the middle of the night, AND M3 slept the entire night.  WOW – I had some great sleep last night.  I’m as happy as Larry (not sure who Larry is – but it seems that he is a happy fellow!).

M1 has missed the entire week of Kinder this week, and today is the excursion to the local animal farm.  We have been there a number of times as a family – but I can tell she is really wanting to go.  Maybe we will meet the Kinder there – I’ll see how the morning pans out.  Both the girls (an me included) are totally sick of being here at the house!

Finally – check out my new hair – or lack thereof!!!!!
